WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Currumbin is one of our favourite all-time wildlife sanctuaries in Australia. Set on 27ha of lush eucalyptus and rainforest, Currumbin offers everything from the chance to cuddle a koala, hang out with a kangaroo, and discover hundreds of animals, to a guided Segway safari tour, train rides and a free-flight bird show with birds of prey and endangered species. Hands-down one of the best day trips.

THE BEACHES

With everything going on in the Gold Coast and the plethora of attractions to visit, you can almost forget that one of the very best things it has to offer is its beaches. Sweeping golden sands, warm water and blue skies make this a beach-lover’s idyll. Our favourite time is early morning before the crowds hit and the temperatures rise – taking a quiet walk along the shore followed by breakfast and coffee at one of the many hip cafés you’ll find on nearby streets is a perfect start to the day.
