To Obama with love, joy, hate and despair

- JR

by Jeanne Marie Laskas, Bloomsbury

As we continue to look back at Obama’s presidency and wonder why it wasn’t valued more, this book of letters sums up what we’re missing. Obama was big on letters, this was one of the ways he kept in touch with his people. Every day he received 10,000 missives from constituents and every night he would read 10 specially selected by his office and write back either personally or with notes for his team to respond. This collection of those letters, including interviews with the correspondents, offers an intimate insight into what America was thinking.
