About the author

-

Dubliner Anne Enright, 57, grew up on her mother’s tales of the glamour of the city of her youth, and says her latest novel, Actress, “is a bit of a love letter to that old Dublin when the theatre was one of the more exciting places to go.” Anne was always a writer, but as “an interruption” became a TV producer and director before returning to her main passion 30 years ago. She won the 2007 Man Booker for The Gathering. The prize secured her writing life and, she notes, “gave me a huge increase in readership”. She lives in Dublin with her husband, two children and a dog.
