Lips are the first to suffer when the wind picks up.

When choosing a balm, opt for a formula containing healing ingredient­s like shea butter and beeswax. If your skin is flaky, gently massage a homemade blend of brown sugar and coconut oil into lips to lift dead cells. Some surprising things that can make dry skin worse: flavoured balms with mint or menthol, and matte lipstick, which won’t create the barrier your chapped mouth needs to heal.
