About the author
Author Nina de Gramont grew up in New Jersey where she had a “lucky childhood with loving parents, a great education, and a houseful of books”. She turned to writing because, she says: “It was the only thing I was ever good at!” The Christie Affair is her fourth novel. In 2015 she was sent an article about crime writer Agatha Christie’s famous disappearance by her agent and was intrigued. “My vision of Christie was always as so stalwart, and so fantastically successful. It was incredible to imagine her heartbroken, vulnerable, and at sea – a place nearly all of us have been, at one point or another,” she says.
