How to REPAIR DAMAGED HAIR

After summer and all the tough love that comes with it, winter is a time to nurture and repair your hair back to a healthy, shiny state.

1

REPAIR SPLIT ENDS. If your hair is tangling more than usual, that’s a sign you’ve got split ends (plus, you can probably see them). The fastest fix is a trim, but if you can’t get there, Oribe Split End Seal Beautiful Color Treatment, $80, can mend ends until you can get to the salon.

2

BEWARE THE WASH. Shampoo seems so innocent, but the wrong formula can do more damage to hair that’s on the brink. So, look for one with hydrating and restorative ingredients, like Virtue Split End Serum, $66. While you’re at it, deep condition once a week too.

3

BOND YOUR BONDS. When hair is colour-damaged (you know, rough, dull and breaks easily), the bonds inside the hair structure are broken. One of the best ways to fix them is in the salon with an Olaplex treatment and then continue the work afterwards with the at-home formula Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil, $57.
