End of an era with last Bay News

Bay News - - NEWS - Carmen Hall

It’s the end of an era today as we publish the Bay News for the last time.

The Bay News, which launched on September 21, 1990, will not return after the Christmas break.

The good news is you can be assured your favourite content from the Bay News will now appear in the Bay of Plenty Times, including liftouts vibe and indulge, plus our digital channels including bayofplentytimes.co.nz.

We remain committed to serving the region and making sure you are kept up to date with all the latest news, sport and entertainment that matters to you.

It has been a privilege to share your stories and bring you the best mix in Tauranga community news through Bay News, and we look forward to continuing to do so through the Bay of Plenty Times.

Finally, Bay of Plenty generalmanager Greg Murphy, writer Rebecca Mauger, the rest of the Bay News team and myself would like to thank you— our loyal readers and advertisers— for all your support over the years.

Have a merry Christmas and happy, safe New Year.
