Lawyers ‘dis­ap­peared’

A spokesman for an Egyp­tian hu­man rights or­gan­i­sa­tion says au­thor­i­ties have moved two lawyers to an un­known lo­ca­tion and they haven’t been heard from since. Ahmed el-At­tar of Egyp­tian Co­or­di­na­tion for Rights and Free­doms says a court or­dered the re­lease of Ez­zat Ghoniem and Az­zoz Mah­goub on Septem­ber 4 pend­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions into ac­cu­sa­tions they were plot­ting against Egypt, but the two dis­ap­peared while in cus­tody.
