Walsh OK with Ball

Basketball: Breakers owner Matt Walsh would welcome Lamelo Ball to the Australian basketball league owners table. The 18-year-old NBA prospect has and his manager have begun discussions to buy the Illawarra Hawks. It comes after Ball spent a season playing for the Hawks, and is now expected to enter the NBA. However, the Australian basketball league has issued a statement around Ball’s ownership bid for the Hawks. His manager Jermaine Jackson told ESPN he and Ball had purchased the franchise, but that appears premature. The league has confirmed they are working with current licence holder Simon Stratford on a number of options, but no transfer of licence application has been made.
