Praise for testing
Bay of Plenty District Health Board interim chief executive Simon Everitt has praised support service providers, businesses and staff for the part they played in the Bay of Plenty’s Covid-19 assessment centres. The numbers of people visiting Community Based Assessment Centres in Tauranga, Whakatane, Opotiki, Kawerau and Katikati has reduced considerably in the last few weeks. As a result, the fixed site CBACS are being phased out this week. Mobile assessment centres, including the kaupapa Ma¯ ori units, Pahi Tahi and Te Puna Ora o Mataatua, which service rural and vulnerable communities, will continue into early June.
