Sheep flock declines

-

The nation’s sheep flock has taken a hit due to drought. Sheep numbers have dropped to 26 million. Stats New Zealand says that’s a far cry from the peak of 70 million in 1982. Numbers dropped by 800 thousand in the year to last June. Hawke’s Bay had the largest decrease with the 2020 drought causing feed shortages.
