● Flavours of Plenty — Bountiful Bites: Culinary Showcase, Waihi Beach Primary School, Waihi Beach 10am to 11.30am. Indulge in the gastronomi­c creations of Brad King, esteemed chef and co-owner of The Falls Retreat.

● Public Roller Skating Session — Queen Elizabeth Youth Centre, Tauranga, 1pm to 3pm. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Sunday April 7:

● Russ Spiegel at Rotorua Jazz Club. US guitarist Russ Spiegel playing with Mark Lockett on drums and Wil Goodinson on bass. Rotorua Citizens Club 4.30 to 8pm $20 casual, $10 members, $2 students.

● Tony Gill Memorial Walk/fun Run, Neil Hunt Park Rotorua, 3pm. 5km (shorter distance possible) walk/fun run to remember Tony Gill and raise funds for MND NZ — register at Lake City Athletics Club — $5, Family event.

Saturday, April 13: The Tauranga Civic Choir is singing the Faure Requiem and other French music, 4pm, St Peter’s Church, Spring St, Tauranga. $25 cash only at the door.

Sunday April 14: Music at the Rotunda, Government Gardens, Rotorua, 1pm to 3pm. 1pm to be confirmed. 2pm Bobby Mihi Howard: Musician, vocalist, composer and stalwart of Rotorua Musical Theatre, Bobby is currently working on her bilingual musical Ko Ta¯ ua (You and I).
