Friday, May 10:

● Battle Chorus, Sir Howard Morrison Centre. Under the guidance of Aotearoa musical heavyweigh­ts Jason Te Mete and Rutene Spooner, audiences form two teams, learn some choruses and then battle it out, singing every anthem in the Kiwiana songbook, leaping from Herbs to The Exponents.

● Art for Kids: Fundraiser, St Amand, Tauranga, 12pm to 3pm. Tickets via Art Gallery. Enjoy a curated culinary experience, engage in an art collecting masterclas­s, and take the opportunit­y to acquire original works by renowned New Zealand artists at our exclusive fundraiser event.

Saturday, May 11:

● Landslide – Fleetwood Mac/ Stevie Nicks Tribute Show, Totara St, Mount Maunganui, 8.30pm. Tickets via Totara St. Landslide is a live five-piece band, who have been celebratin­g the music of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks for the past 11 years.

● Hardcore Fight Series 2, Budokan Rotorua, Lake Rd, Rotorua, 1pm to 6pm. Tickets via eventfinda. Kickboxing show held in Rotorua by Manawa Toa Muay Thai — novice event displaying local talent competing against other regional talent and up-and-coming stars.

● Reggae Night, Maungatapu Primary School, Tauranga, 6pm to 7pm. Come dressed in your best Reggae-themed outfit – vibrant colours, tropical prints or iconic reggae accessorie­s – and a chance to win prizes. ● Te Puna Quarry Mother’s Day Plant Sale, Te Puna Quarry Park. Devonshire teas, plants for sale, posie making, gifts and more. Please bring cash for stalls and bags/boxes for plants.

● Mother’s Day Dinner 2024, Okere Falls Store, Rotorua, 5pm and 7.30pm. Tickets via eventfinda. Join us for a special 3-course dinner at The Okere Falls Store to celebrate the Mother figure in your life.

Wednesday, May 15 to Saturday, May 25: And Then There Were None, Rotorua Little Theatre. Tickets via eventfinda. Ten strangers with dark secrets are invited to an isolated island.

As the guests start dying one by one, the survivors must uncover the killer’s identity before it’s too late. Come and join us for an evening of murder.

Friday May 17: Corrella at Totara St, Mount Maunganui. This run of shows will be their biggest headline tour to date and is their first series of headline shows since their soldout Road From 26 album release tour in 2023. They will play Mount Maunganui’s Totara St alongside galactic-funk band Black Comet. Tickets via Flicket.

Tuesday, May 21: Heath Franklin’s Chopper — Not Here to F**k Spiders Baycourt Addison Theatre, 7pm R15+. Tickets via eventfinda. Wednesday, May 22: Artsmad, Sir Howard Morrison Centre. Come along to hear passionate and inspiratio­nal talks from members of our community delivering. Featuring eight speakers who each have 20 images and only minutes to present them.

Saturday, May 25:

● Andrew Joyce and Jian Liu, Baycourt, 4pm. Tickets via eventfinda. Showcasing music for cello and piano from the UK, China, and NZ, the virtuosic duo brings a colourful assortment of soundbites for the first half, followed by a larger Romantic sonata by Brahms for the latter half of the programme.

● Matthias Balzat: Joie de Vivre, Sir Howard Morrison Centre. This concert series begins with Beethoven’s powerful “Egmont Overture” and culminates in the enchanting melodies and buoyant energy of Bizet’s Symphony in C. The centrepiec­e is Vieuxtemps’ A-minor Cello Concerto, performed by Matthias. Tickets via Ticketmast­er.

Sunday, May 26 and Wednesday, May 29: The Beach Boys Experience, Sir Howard Morrison Centre. Favourites like Surfin Safari, Surfin USA, Surfer Girl, Little Deuce Coupe, Barbara Ann and California Girls turned the warm-weather months into a blissful utopia where perpetual happiness, young love, and endless freedom reigned. Friday, May 31:

● Guy Montgomery, Sir Howard Morrison Centre. Tickets via Ticketmast­er.

● Ballroom Blitz, Sir Howard Morrison Centre. Tickets via Ticketmast­er. Featuring breathtaki­ng costumes, lighting and stage design fused with heartpound­ing music performed by our live band, this show will set the stage on fire as the dancers create moments of pure enchantmen­t, a testament to the incredible world of dance.
