The ability to lift and dock your boat or PWC clear of the water is always going to be the ultimate for boat owners in terms of reducing maintenance and keeping it in tip-top condition.

dThe pure convenience of making boating easier and more enjoyable is why Jet Docks are appearing in good numbers in many NZ marinas and canals. Jet dock owners estimate that they find themselves being able to use their vessels up to three times more often after buying one. Why?

Ease of Use: • Reduces time to get out on the water. Only takes 30 seconds to undo winch, start motor and back off • Only requires one person to put in and take out of water and very user-friendly • Space around dock offers easy access to boat / let ski, and makes it easy for cleaning. There is also a compelling financial argument for owning one: • Reduces maintenance required on boat, outboard / stern leg • No need to stain or anti-foul your boat, saving approximately $4,000 in upfront anti-fouling costs, plus $1,500 in annual maintenance • No need to buy a trailer as vessel stays on the dock saving approximately $10,000. No need for a dedicated towing vehicle • Jet Docks are low maintenance, easy to install and easy to move to different locations. New Zealand distributor Peter Carlson of Family Boats explains: BNZ: Why did you get into importing Jet Dock? PC: We needed one at our house and as I am always changing boats I needed a brand that was high quality and could be expandable. We like the versatility. It is suitable for any outboard or stern drive boat up to 12 metres and ideal for PWCs. Jet Docks are modular and can be expanded or modified to suit any type of outboard or stern drive vessel, and can be used next to existing docks and on marina berths. BNZ: Why did you choose this brand? PC: It is the biggest brand internationally. It has the best reputation and a fair price. BNZ: How long have you been handling them and how many are out there? PC: We have sold around 45, mainly 6m and above, with another 20 PWC docks. Pauanui has 18. We have been doing them for five years. BNZ: Are they easy to install? Is it a DIY product? PC: Yes, they can be installed by a customer or we can install in almost any location. We have sold them as far south as Dusky Sounds and north of Bay of Islands.
