New boats galore!

Itching to buy a new boat but can’t decide? The AOWBS can help to clear the clutter.

Just weeks away, this year’s Auckland On Water Boat Show, September 28 to October 1, 2017 at the Viaduct Events Centre, will see an impressive collection of new motor launches, yachts, trailer boats and recreation­al vessels on display, many for the first time in New Zealand. As well as New Zealand-built motor yachts from boatbuilde­rs Lloyd Stevenson, Scott Lane, Allan Tongs, Pachoud Motor Yachts, Alloy Cats, Epic Yachts, Marine Evolutions, Makaira Boats, Lifestyle Yachts and others, the country’s leading yacht importers will also have plenty of exciting new stock on offer.

Busfield Marine Brokers, NZ agent for Bavaria yachts, motorboats and catamarans, will bring the new Bavaria Sport 360 Hardtop to the show. In addition, they’ll show the larger Bavaria S40, as well as a Bavaria C37 sailing yacht.

36o will bring a new Beneteau Swift Trawler 44, as well as a Swift 30. Family Boats remain the New Zealand agent for Beneteau outboard powered motorboats. 36o will also show a Beneteau Oceanis 44.1, the latest release and a first appearance for this model in New Zealand.

Orakei Marine, New Zealand dealer for Jeanneau, which includes motor yacht brand Leader, are debuting Jeanneau’s Sun Odyssey 44DS, the latest in the company’s Deck Saloon range of sailing yachts. Also new at the show is the stunning Jeanneau J51, featured on page 20 of this issue, a sailing boat that combines luxurious style with generous living spaces. Both these boats are brand new to the market.

Orakei Marine will also exhibit a couple of new Prestige motor yachts, along with Jeanneau motor yachts in the NC range.

Other imported motor yachts include Caribbean, exhibiting examples of its range of sport fisher-cruisers, plus the new model 2300 trailer boat, and Greenline, whose New Zealand distributo­r Hybrid Boats will display the new Greenline 39 Hybrid, featured in this issue of the magazine (pg44).

Motor Yacht Centre has several new Maritimo luxury motor yacht models coming to the show, which are bound to solicit plenty of interest.

Seven Riviera motor yachts will make their New Zealand debut at the show: the 6000SY, 5400SY, 4800SY, 445SUV, 445SUV, 57 Flybridge and 52 Flybridge are all new models for R Marine Flagship. On the sail side, Flagship Marine will have Dufour 460, 412 and 350 models for inspection, alongside a Grand Soleil 43.

Sports Marine will exhibit five boats: a Carver C37 motor yacht; a Boston Whaler 285 Conquest; a Boston Whaler 315 Conquest, both with outboard power; a Nimbus 305 Coupe and a Sea Ray Sundancer 355. Other boats of interest include multihulls from Multihull Solutions and Bailey Marine’s range of Arvor cruisers.

As well as bigger boats displayed on the water, visitors to the show can find locally-built and imported aluminium and fibreglass trailer boats on hardstand areas around the Viaduct. Brands include Stabicraft, White Pointer, Profile, FC, AMF, Ultimate, Everyman, Sea Blade, Senator, Sealegs, Lazercraft, Purekraft, Extreme, Surtees, Southern, Image, Black Dog, Kingfisher, Tristram, Rayglass, Buccaneer, Haines Hunter, GradyWhite and more.

There are plenty of RIBS, yacht tenders, inflatable­s and dinghies as well, from the likes of Lancer, Naiad, OC Tenders, True Kit, Takacat and Aakron-express. Smuggler Marine will show the new Strata 750CC in black, a new Strata 575 BIB and a Strata 750SS ( BNZ, August 2017).
