MODX 70–100% RENEWABLE ENERGY, ZERO CO2

-

Océan Développement is pleased to introduce the MODX 70, a new pleasure catamaran using 100% renewable energy packed with innovation and technology. This new 70-foot (21.34m) catamaran is the first vessel to feature two automated propulsion systems: A pair of inflatable wings on retractable masts, and an electric motor system with variable pitch propellors for hydrogeneration. Experience offshore cruising with zero CO2 emissions.

The MODX 70 series is the result of 10 years of experience in developing sustainable, accessible and well performing yachts.

The MODX project is led by the French shipyard Océan Développement (Lorient 56) in partnership with VPLP Design. The company collaborated with highly specialised technology partners in the fields of bio-composites, energy mix (wings by Aeroforce, hydrogeneration and solar panels), and electric propulsion engines.

Océan Développement has been operating since 2008 from its base in Lorient (56). The shipyard designed and produced the MOD70 trimaran series, as well as managed the integration of H2 and Kite energies on board the solarpowered ship Race for Water. www.modx-catamarans.com
