Give the hunt a go without jumps

-

The Dannevirke Hunt appreciates that times are changing.

In years gone by, many equestrian activities and competitions stopped for winter and hunting commenced.

Hunting provided an excitement and challenge of another kind as equestrians turned out their competition horses and brought in their hunters.

Hunting continues to give riders excitement and challenges, while riding over beautiful private properties and enjoying the company of like-minded people. However, the hunt also understands there are groups of riders who, for many reasons, would like to hunt but are not interested in jumping.

In recognition of this, Dannevirke Hunt is opening up its membership to a nonjumping section.

This section will be fully combined with all members of the Dannevirke Hunt, however there will be some conditions applicable to non-jumpers.

If you would like to have a go and you and your horse/pony are able to walk, trot and canter confidently in a group to keep up with the Hunt then you are eligible to the four-week pilot.

The next four weekend hunts of the season starting on Sunday April 2 are available for non-members to try nonjumping hunting.

Prior to the hunt starting you will be given an introduction on how it all works by the Master.

Then follow the Gate Master, who will keep you in touch with the rest of the hunt and support and guide you through the day.
