Schools compete in seven a side

- By KELLY CHRISTENSEN Tararua Recreation Advisor Sport Manawatu¯

Congratulations to all schools competing in the 7th Tararua Primary School Seven-a-side Tournament.

It was inspirational to see the pride from the children representing their school.

There were 74 teams were competing this year, approximately 666 participants, with 190 matches played. Another point that was a highlight was the collaboration from a couple of schools combining, which is one of the aims of the tournament to have all schools represented. Well done Papatawa, Ballance and Kumeroa Schools.

Another winner on the day was the weather!

Tararua College and Dannevirke High School volunteered as well as Pahiatua and St Anthony’s runners. Many positive comments were received about all school volunteers on the day. They were terrific role models showing it is great to give back and volunteer. Results:
