Fords clash with Holdens at Mangataino­ka car day

It was a battle for all car lovers at Tui Brewery when it hosted its Mangataino­ka Motors on Sunday July 29 — Holden versus Ford.

And judging by the results it seems both came up trumps.

Over 300 people attended Tui Brewery’s Mangataino­ka Motors Holden versus Ford Car Day, with 110 registered cars making an impressive lineup.

The Holden versus Ford Car Day featured as part of Tui Brewery’s Mangataino­ka Motors car days which are held on the last Sunday of each month.

Sunday’s event attracted vehicles from all around the central North Island, including four convoys from Wellington, Palmerston North and Napier with people mixing and mingling, shining the chrome and soaking up the onsite hospitalit­y.

The next Mangataino­ka Motors car day will show case rally cars and be held on Sunday, August 26.

Most Original Holden: Alan Barr – Holden Special.

Furthest Travelled Ford: Matt Lind – Ford Falcon.

Furthest Travelled Holden: George West – Holden HSV

Local Star Holden: Michael Benton – Holden K Torance.

People’s Choice Ford: Deryk Warren – Fairmont Ford.

People’s Choice Holden: Rixsta Sammons – Holden Commodore VX SS.

Star of Show Ford: Kevin McHardy – Ford Model A.

Star of Show Holden: Darren Groube – Holden Commodore SS.
