New ute in national contest

- By STEVE CARLE´ By EMILY CUTTANCE Bisset Honda

Philip and Rose Fleming, dairy farmers from Ballance, are the national winners of a De Laval competition for a Ford Ranger XLT ute drawn at the Fieldays.

The Flemings received a phone call to say they’d won.

“It was pretty exciting. My old ute was 16 years old, so it was definitely time for a new one,” said Philip.

His wife Rose was equally jubilant. “It was pretty fantastic winning a new ute,” she said.

They got to choose the colour and accessories before it was delivered on Thursday, September 6.

To qualify for the competition the Flemings had to buy De Laval dairy chemicals and teat sprays — the more product they bought, the more entries they could put in.

“The Flemings have been loyal — they buy all their products off De Laval and we have done all their servicing. They are second generation and the family has been dealing with us for 26 years. Philip’s father dealt with us. Both Philip and Rose have done a lot of their work through us with servicing. Our focus as a business is on our rural customers,” said Brett MacDougall of MacDougalls.
