Ju­nior foot­ball winds up in Dan­nevirke

Ju­nior Sat­ur­day morn­ing foot­ball wound up on Sat­ur­day Septem­ber 1 with a se­ries of fun par­ents-ver­sus-kids games and the prize-giv­ing.

Dan­nevirke fielded seven teams in the Tararua-wide com­pe­ti­tion in two grades — In­ter­me­di­ate and Se­nior, from which came two rep­re­sen­ta­tive teams — Un­der 11 and Un­der 13. The rep­re­sen­ta­tive teams are still play­ing matches.

The large group of ju­nior young­sters in the Fun Kicks and Small Kicks teams en­joyed a mix of skills and games through­out the sea­son.

For the se­nior and in­ter­me­di­ate teams it has been a fun sea­son, trav­el­ling away to Woodville and Pahiatua al­ter­nate Satur­days.

Each player re­ceived a cer­tifi­cate and the very best re­ceived tro­phies as shown above.
