Managh Elec­tri­cal is thriv­ing

Managh Elec­tri­cal in Pahiatua is go­ing from strength to strength, with the lat­est fo­cus be­ing on LED light­ing re­place­ment and heat pump in­stal­la­tions. While their ser­vic­ing side is con­tin­u­ing to be busy with solid do­mes­tic elec­tri­cal work de­mand in the Tararua District, com­mer­cial elec­tri­cal work sees the team trav­el­ling out­side of the district.

A wed­ding venue at Po­hang­ina Val­ley has had over 45 LED lights in­stalled by Managh Elec­tri­cal.

“Peo­ple are chang­ing to LED light­ing for a num­ber of rea­sons,” ex­plains man­ager Joel Turner. “Homes, cow­sheds, cov­ered yards, work­shops, re­tail out­lets and food out­lets have been mov­ing to LED. These have been the main­stay of work for the team. There is a num­ber of rea­sons to switch to LED: less ser­vic­ing costs and power sav­ings are the main ones. Some­times over 50 per cent en­ergy sav­ings can be achieved, depend­ing on your cur­rent lights. It makes sense when re­plac­ing do­mes­tic down­light fit­tings to change to LED. Their life­span ranges from 20,000 to 50,000 hours com­pared to in­can­des­cent with only 2000 to 7000 hours. Sav­ings be­tween 20 to 40 per cent can be achieved com­pared to flu­o­res­cent tubes. There are weath­er­proof LEDs for out­door ap­pli­ca­tions.
