Managh Electrical in Pahiatua is going from strength to strength, with the latest focus being on LED lighting replacement and heat pump installations. While their servicing side is continuing to be busy with solid domestic electrical work demand in the Tararua District, commercial electrical work sees the team travelling outside of the district.
A wedding venue at Pohangina Valley has had over 45 LED lights installed by Managh Electrical.
“People are changing to LED lighting for a number of reasons,” explains manager Joel Turner. “Homes, cowsheds, covered yards, workshops, retail outlets and food outlets have been moving to LED. These have been the mainstay of work for the team. There is a number of reasons to switch to LED: less servicing costs and power savings are the main ones. Sometimes over 50 per cent energy savings can be achieved, depending on your current lights. It makes sense when replacing domestic downlight fittings to change to LED. Their lifespan ranges from 20,000 to 50,000 hours compared to incandescent with only 2000 to 7000 hours. Savings between 20 to 40 per cent can be achieved compared to fluorescent tubes. There are weatherproof LEDs for outdoor applications.
