Burglaries and violence
■ Norsewood/Dannevirke/ Pongaroa:
On October 30 a residential address on Tiratu Road Dannevirke was entered and a significant amount of property stolen. The burglary appears targeted with the offenders appearing to have known the stolen items were inside the property.
Dannevirke police attended eight family violence incidents in the past week. One person was arrested for breach of protection order. A police safety order was also issued in another.
Norsewood police attended two vehicle accidents over the week. On October 27 there was a fatal motorbike accident just south of Norsewood on State Highway 2. On October 30 Norsewood police attended a vehicle accident on State Highway 2 where the driver left the road crashing through a fence.
■ Eketa¯ huna/Pahiatua/ Woodville:
On October 25 Pahiatua police attended a vehicle accident where a vehicle drove into a lamppost on Main Street.
Pahiatua police attended a burglary on Inglis Road where a vacant property was entered and a hot water cylinder stolen.
On October 27 two offenders entered a property in Woodville where an ambulance was attending to a victim. They stole equipment from the ambulance while the ambulance officers were dealing with the patient.
On October 28 Eketa¯ huna police stopped a vehicle for a driving complaint. While they were stopped another person who had witnessed the driver’s behaviour arrived and assaulted the driver. Police took action against both parties.
