A reminder for those submitting Building Consent applications between November and January.
In accordance with Section 48 of the Building Act, Council has 20 working days to grant or refuse a building consent application. However, the period from 20th December to the 10th January every year is not classified as working days under the Building Act 2004.
Tararua District Council Offices will be closed from 5:00pm 21 December until 8:00am 7th January. Therefore any building consent applications submitted after 1 December 2018 will be affected.
During this time, inspections are generally limited to emergency situations or those pre-arranged with the Building team.
Remember s if you are planning any construction, removal or alteration work you will need to obtain a Building Consent before the work begins.
