Hazel Cornforth of Pahiatua and Warren Williams of Whakata¯ ne caught up at the annual Pahiatua Get Together held in Palmerston North recently.

Hazel and Warren worked together at the WFCA store back in the 1950s.

The company was later purchased by Wright Stephenson & Company. New World now operates on what was the WFCA site. It was another successful occasion, when this year some 85 attended over lunch at the Palmerston North Cossie Club in Linton Street.

Visitors came from as far south as Christchurch and Auckland in the north.

It was a great time to meet up with former classmates, workmates, Scout and Girl Guide groups as well as sporting friends — bringing back many memories.

Another get-together is already in the planning for next year. Originally started as Pahiatua Expats the get-together has now been open to include those still living in the Pahiatua District.

If anyone interested in next year’s gettogether, contact Margaret Lozell nee Carrington 06 357 1998 or don.marg@inspire.net.nz next year.
