Croccie stocks the unusual

-

Charles Crockett started only one year ago buying and selling vintage or antique items.

He now has about 600 items in stock.

“I always had fine china in my parents house,” he said. “I now buy at auctions or from locals willing to sell. They can phone me on 021 0807 6207.”

He is looking for old china, cameras, transistor radios, microscopes, telescopes, typewriters, anything vintage or antique. The era of interest is from the 70s.

Christmas presents for the hard to buy for is something Charles can cater for. He has hundreds of items stashed at home. Most of his sales are on Trade Me — locals can pickup from him or he can deliver around the lower North Island.

Search for croccie on Trade Me to have a look at his listings — to the right of the search option there is a pop down menu that lists all the search options — scroll to the bottom and click on ‘members’ and then type croccie into the box at the top of the page.

“I tend to go out of my way to get the unusual objects. I will go back into 1700s-1800s, especially in china. I am interested mainly in English china but also a bit of German and old Chinese porcelain,” he said.

“I’m always on the look-out for old newspapers to use for packaging, cardboard boxes and bubble wrap.”

In stock he has Royal Albert, Royal Worcester, Royal Doulton, Wedgwood, Hammersley, Minton, Crown Lynn and Temuka.

He will buy jewellery, collectables, comics, postcards and stamps. He can be emailed on croccie1956@gmail.com
