When I stood for a seat on the Tararua District

Council I emphasised my desire to be positive about our region. We have a great story to tell and I am very grateful to have earned your support to be able to play my part in telling that story.

This may not be specifically within the written job description of a District Councillor, but given the feedback I have received from you, itos what you want your councillors to do.

We are lucky, because we have a great team on

Council. Everyone is keen to work together to push this District forward and create opportunities where we can s whether itos economic development or in pushing our cause with Government through the

Mayor and Chief Executive.

These last three months have been a tremendous learning curve for me and there is a lot more to learn, but I am encouraged by the support I have been given by our team and by all of you who have stopped to chat to me in the street.

We have our challenges, as any District as rural and dispersed as Tararua, but I have no doubt we can meet them and show the rest of the country Tararua is a great place to live and do business. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on our services and future as we prepare Councilos Annual Plan.
