Double ton highlight of senior cricket

After struggling to turn good starts into big scores, Thomas Kuggeleijn playing for Dannevirke Sports Club Premiere Twos belted 212 runs off 118 balls at Manaroa Park against United on Saturday February 15.

His last 50 runs came off 15 balls and he and Campbell Ingram ,who scored 89, helped their team to a massive 388 off 50 overs.

United replied with 190 all out Gareth Martin getting three wickets and the other wickets shared.

Thomas continued his good form at Dannevirke on Sunday February 23 against Freyberg top-scoring with 69 in a total of 263, George Larsen hitting 35 and Gareth Martin 31.

In reply Freyberg were all out for 173, Marcus Ingram and Thomas both taking three wickets.

With one pool game to go against Palmerston North Boys High on March 7 at Dannevirke the Premier Twos are well on top of their grade with the semis to come.

Meanwhile the P3s had their game washed out on Saturday against Feilding after being 116 for 6 off 25 overs.

The newly created Dannevirke High School 1st XI playing in the Manawatu¯ Secondary School B Grade 20/20 competitio­n had a win over Feilding High School on Saturday morning.

Having suffered a first match defeat to Tararua College (DHS 63, Tararua 64-1 Ben Harris 50 not out) the Dannevirke team beat Feilding at Dannevirke on Saturday.

Feilding set Dannevirke 93 to win off 20 overs after tight bowling by Taj Chapman-Peters (two for two off three overs) and Tamati Rautahi (two for eight off two overs). Tamati top scored with 32 not out, Tyler Eggleton adding 24 in a successful run chase being 93/7 off 17 overs.
