Ormondville Cemetery
The clean-up of Ormondville Cemetery has been a big success, with grave sites now free from broken, overhanging trees. pLast winter we took out huge, old macrocarpa trees which were overgrowing grave sites and now the last of the clean up work has been completed,q said Peter
Sinclair, councilos Community Property and ’ssets
Manager.
The removal of the trees also creates more space for the expansion of the cemetery. pRecently weove been able to do fencing and reestablish grass and itos all tidy and looking good.q
Contractors had originally planned to complete the upgrade of the cemetery in March and ’pril, but the
Covid-19 lockdown prevented the work being carried out. pThe grass is still to grow, but weore very pleased with the new, tidy cemetery,q Sinclair said.
