Christmas kai, cheer, carols, crackers
Lions’ hold festive lunch for senior citizens — with all the trimmings
Hovding Hall in Norsewood was the scene of a very happy time as Norsewood Lions hosted 40 local senior citizens to Christmas lunch December 3.
The tables were beautifully decorated and the pulling of crackers added to the festive feel before Vice President Birgitta Roulston formally welcomed her guests.
It was then on to the first course prepared by a busy bunch of Lions in the kitchen and it was most enjoyed.
The first course was followed by entertainment from the Norsewood and Districts School’s middle class singing beautiful Christmas carols, accompanied by their teacher Jose McGoverne on guitar.
The singing was exquisite in both tone and timing and a special treat was the playing of The First Noel by eight children using bells, each one a note in the chord. It was faultless and was followed by Kate and Wilson Bishop playing several pieces on their violins, which again illustrated the
great training of their teacher.
What else would you expect but pavlova and fruit salad for dessert to
end a lovely celebration of Christmas, bringing the good people of Norsewood together.

.. .. .. .. .. .. ..
You either believe in psychic mediums or you don't. Whatever you think, this is a fascinating read of accounts from friends and family of people involved in missing person cases and insights into Cruickshank's background. I've interviewed him over the phone before and he told me some things that he thought would happen in my life and said a couple of names of people I knew that had passed away.
What he told me actually eventuated. Not in the time line he said and not exactly, but the basics were all correct. A little bit spooky.
Worth a read. —
