Manawatu Union High-Performance Centre
The Tararua College Youth Rugby Team visited the Manawatu Union HighPerformance Centre, where the players had the opportunity to get an insight at what a player from the Turbo or Cyclone's training day looks like.
The boys were addressed by the Cyclone and Turbo Coaches and the CEO of the union. With a couple of the younger Turbo Squad members and Academy players as the coaches, the kids were taken through their paces with a few strength and conditioning exercises before moving out onto the fields to work on position-specific skills and drills.
The kids were also shown the importance of video analysis, taken through, and shown the dressing rooms, and had the opportunity to run out of the tunnel onto the field where they attempted to sing the national anthem and almost busted out a haka.
The team would like to give massive thanks to Fusi and his crew for giving up their time and providing an awesome experience for the kids. I would like to thank Emma Mitchell, Joanna Laing, and Raewyn Inder for giving up their time to help out with driving and controlling the boys.
