Performance Evenings for "Why are you Here?" and "Twisted"

This term has seen our students working on the Production Evenings and their performances of "Why are you here?" by Sue Murray and "Twisted" by Andrew Fusek Peters and Polly Peters. This year, there has had to be significant changes made to ensure the hard work our students complete in the build-up to the performances is Covid proof. Therefore the plays have been cast entirely in single class lots. Over the performance evenings, there will be two different performances with different actors in each. On the Monday evening, the Year 12 and 13 students will be performing "Twisted", followed by half the Year 10's performing "Why are you Here?" On the Tuesday evening, the Year 11 class will perform "Twisted" and the other half of the Year 10 class will perform "Why are you Here?" This was to ensure that all students could still receive academic recognition if we were to go into lockdown again.

The rehearsals have been ramping up and the students have spent the last two Sundays in school, running full dress rehearsals. The lines have been learnt, the costumes selected, the set created and the performances directed by students. They have shown great enthusiasm, Whakaute, WhakawhÃiti and Kairangi throughout the sessions.

The wonderful Food Technology Department has also been working hard on themed nibbles for intermission. They will be selling these for a gold coin donation, so remember to bring your spare change. If you are purchasing tickets to see a particular student perform, please check with them which night they are on. Tickets are available now from the front office for $5 per person or $15 a whÃnau. We can't wait to see you all there!
