Prize giving for hockey, football

Bush seniors end season on high

Bush Senior Football and Hockey had their annual prize giving at Bush Multisport on Saturday, September 3. It was a great turn out with more than 60 guests, all there to celebrate the success of the Bush Hockey and Football clubs for the 2022 season.

Bush Football finished third in the Manawatu competitio­n for 2022. They had four awards to give out for the 2022 season. Most Improved this year went to Jack Napier. Golden Boot, Afi Awhimate. Players Player, Kieran Bhuchar. Most Valuable Player (MVP), Liam Williamson.

A special recognitio­n to the two life members, Mike Treder and Craig Batchelor, who retired from the Men’s football team they have both been a part of since it started in 2016.

Bush Hockey had two teams entered into the Manawatu competitio­n for this year. The Women’s team had a hard fought season but always turned up with a smile on their face and played the best they could. Aaron Inwood has coached for the past three years.

Most Improved went to Jemma Henderson. Most Dedicated Player, Brooke Batley. Players Player, Abby Treder. Best Young Up and Coming Player, Abby Treder. Most

Valuable Player (MVP), Katie Sutton.

The Bush Men’s team had another outstandin­g season, winning the division three

competitio­n for the second year in a row.

They also came away with the Hockey Manawatu top points trophy for 2022. Huge congratula­tions to all the men who have been apart of the team this year and we look forward to having you back next year. Award winners for the Men’s team, Most Improved, Keegan Harnett. Players Player, Aaron Inwood. Most Valuable Player (MVP), Logan McHardy.
