It’s probably safer for them but scary for cars coming out of driveways - children will need educating about checking for cars on the footpath as well as the road, when they cross streets.

The number of times I have been nearly hit by intermedia­te and college kids zooming down the footpath in town, I have stopped counting. There is enough traffic on the footpaths with pedestrian­s and electric scooters now in town. Maybe a good idea where it’s not so busy, but definitely not in main

Young kids and parents yes definitely but others, no.
