How far in advance should a bride start planning her wedding hair?

The sooner the better! We’d recommend talking to your hairdresser at least six months to a year before your wedding date, especially if you’re planning on making a colour change.

How can a bride grow her hair long naturally, and fast? Regular cuts and professional-range shampoos and conditioners are essential to anyone wanting to grow their hair long, along with prescribed conditioning treatments, as this will protect your hair from dangerous split ends. However, this won’t make your hair grow ‘faster’, but it will certainly protect your hair from getting shorter. The truth of the matter is that hair will more or less grow at the speed it wants to grow. There are lots of products on the market that promise faster hair growth, but the results they produce are very minimal. There are, however, lots of incredible products, such as Keune’s Energise Elixir, that will encourage your hair to grow stronger and thicker, and in some cases, reactivate hair growth that has stopped. There are also great supplement options on the market that can increase the strength and growth of hair, nails and skin; talk to your hairdresser or beautician about the best options, and avoid the supermarket supplements and hair products.

What are your best hair tips for the big day?

Do a hair trial … or two … or three! This isn’t something you want to wing, no matter how simple you think the style is. Be prepared to pay for each trial, but trust us when we say that it’s worth it. If your hair isn’t right on the big day then everything will feel off! Be honest with your hairdresser at the end of the trial, and if you’re not 100 per cent satisfied, book a follow-up trial. But also keep in mind that your hairdresser is only human, and recreating a Pinterest-perfect photo isn’t always possible with your hair type. Regardless, you’ll look stunning!

What is the best option for a bride with short hair or fine hair?

There are many beautiful style options for a bride with shorter hair, so don’t be deceived into thinking that only long hair looks beautiful on your wedding day. However, if you don’t have enough natural hair for the style you’re wanting to achieve, permanent extensions are a great option for adding bulk and volume, and can create a whole new world of options. Make sure when you’re on Pinterest looking for hair inspo that you’re typing in short wedding hairstyles, to narrow down your options.
