Achance meeting during a night out at The Shed in Ashburton nine years ago was the start of Erica and Tom’s love story.

They endured a long-distance relationship for three years near the beginning as they were both studying in different cities. During a trip to Wellington for Erica’s birthday, Tom proposed at the top of Mount Victoria, which happened to be caught on camera by a professional photographer on holiday from Australia, who took photos of the proposal from a distance.

Shortly afterwards, Erica turned to Pinterest for inspiration.

She took the first picture of a dress she saved to Minh at Pretty Things, who designed the dress exactly from the picture.

As soon as Tom and Erica visited The Vines Club, they knew it was where they wanted to get married. ‘It was the perfect place for us. It was close to our home and ticked all the boxes,’ says Erica.
