243 runners hit trail

-

Nearly 250 runners converged on Ranui Farm Park in Waipukurau on Sunday, May 19 as the Hawke’s Bay Trail Run Series made a return to CHB.

The 243 competitors who lined up for the second event of this year’s series were greeted by fine and clear conditions as they tackled either the 21.1km half-marathon, or a 12km or 5.5km option.

Trail run organisers Rachael Verry and Jamie Sinclair said they were delighted they could bring the trail running series back to CHB after an absence of several years, since Pukeora Forest closed.

“Ranui Farm Park is a great venue with an onsite cafe and various play activities available. This is quite a treat for trail runners and their supporters as our locations are typically more remote!

“We look forward to returning there next year.”
