Daffodil Day rally returns

-

After the success of last year's inaugural Daffodil Day Rally, the CHB Vintage Car Club will again be joining forces with the local Cancer Society to run another rally on Sunday, August 26.

Last year, the car club handed over a cheque to the CHB Cancer Support Group for $2200 raised from entry fees and the proceeds of an afternoon tea.

Nearly 140 people travelling in 66 cars took part in the rally, which was also open to members of the public for $10 a car.

The rally included two Aston Martins and two Porsches, as well as an old motorbike sidecar, club members' vehicles plus the public's “ordinary” vehicles,

The car club's publicity officer Sandra Cross said this year's rally on August 26 would start at the CHB A&P Showgrounds from the Mitchell St entrance.

“There will be a display of cars from 12.30pm to 1.30pm and the cars will be on the road starting at 1.30pm. The rally will finish at a pleasant country location where the Cancer Society ladies will serve up a lovely homemade afternoon tea.”

The cost to take part in the rally will again be $10 per car, plus $7 per head for afternoon tea.

Local businesses have sponsored the prizes and all profits will benefit the CHB Cancer Support Group.
