Thanks to everyone for Daffodil Day

-

The Central Hawke’s Bay Cancer support group wishes to acknowledge the generosity of the community over Daffodil week.

We had a very successful week with everyone getting into the spirit and willing to donate in so many ways to our very worthy cause which effects so many people.

Thank you to all the people who donated daffodils from their properties. They were spectacular and it would not be Daffodil Day without them.

To the businesses in Waipawa and Waipukurau that purchased daffodils and had donation boxes and to the shops that participated in Paint the Town Yellow, thank you for your effort. The towns looked so cheerful.

Thanks to Cheryl Wiggins for bringing her beautifully decorated miniature pony to town completely decorated in daffodils. Cherokee looked amazing.

The CHB College students were a great help in selling raffle tickets and dressing up as clowns. They were a real hit at the rest homes. You were all a credit to yourselves and your school. Well done.

A big thank you to the Vintage Car Club which had cars in town on Daffodil Day and drove the clowns to the rest homes. They also organised a wonderful car rally which ended up at beautiful Wallingford Homestead for afternoon tea, which we catered.

There were 80 cars and 160 for afternoon tea and all proceeds went to the Cancer Society, so it was a very successful fundraiser.

Thank you to all those who donated so much baking for our cake stall and collected raffle tickets. A great contribution. Last but not least a great big thank you to all on the committee who gave of so much time and effort to make Daffodil Day the success it was.
