Getting off the farm for a laugh

-

Comedian Wilson Dixon will headline an event in CHB designed to get farmers off their farms and laughing.

Farmstrong is holding comedy shows across the country following its first sellout show in the Waikato.

The CHB comedy night will be at the Waipawa Municipal Theatre on Saturday November 3.

“This is fantastic news and will be welcomed by the entire community,” says NZ Young Farmers member Nina Jaine.

“People often forget how important it is to get off the farm, relax and have a yarn with mates.”

The CHB comedy show will feature popular comedians Wilson Dixon, Rhys Mathewson, Tevita Manukia and John Carr.

“This event is for farmers — young and old, rural professionals and supporters of the rural community,” says Michelle Stevens from Farmstrong.

“Our first comedy night in the Waikato was a huge hit. People really appreciate being able to switch off for a bit and have a laugh.”

The show’s being supported by the Rural Support Trust, alongside Farmstrong and NZ Young Farmers.

“Farmstrong promotes rural wellness and shares simple tips and advice on looking after yourself,” said Michelle.

“Bringing communities together at events like this is one of the ways we can do that.”

Tickets are $20, with all proceeds going directly to Farmstrong.

NZ Young Farmers is helping to organise the event.
