Trampoline club brings home gold

-

The awesome foursome from Ricochet Trampoline Club in Waipukurau returned from their first Trampoline Nationals in Tauranga with success and all much richer for the experience.

Competing as part of the Hawke’s Bay Poverty Bay team, Lachie struck gold and an NZ title in the 13-14yr Men’s Tumbling, and Harvey with silver in the 11-12yr Men’s Tumbling. Brothers Lachie and Kegan came fourth in 13-14yr Men’s Synchronised Trampoline, and Lachie came fourth in Sub-Junior Men’s Double Mini Trampoline.

Huntar was unlucky to miss making it to finals in his age group by one placing, which is still a major achievement, going by the large number of competitors in his group.

Kegan and Harvey were also well equipped to make it to finals in their respective disciplines, but unfortunately a few errors prevented this from happening.

The four boys, all in their first year, are recent converts to the sport of trampoline and tumbling, and it is both a testament to their own hard work, as it is to their coach Wayne Marsh, with his dedication, positive and patient work with his young charges.

The boys themselves have been humbled by the support of our local community and would like to thank all for the support, whether buying raffle tickets, consuming sausages sizzles or simple well wishes, all giving the boys added incentive to perform well.
