Hockey girls play national tournament
After a huge amount of fundraising and many practices, Emily Brun (Waipukurau primary), Brooke Little (Waipawa primary) and Emma Johnson (Waipawa primary) left on Sunday October 7 bound for North Harbour as part of the the HB Collier under 13 year old girls hockey team for 2018. The national tournament was held at North Harbour Hockey stadium and 24 teams from across the country were involved. The HB Collier team played eight games in six days and made it into the semifinals. The HB girls played off with Auckland for third and fourth place. They were beaten and finished in fourth place.
The team was seeded 13th going into the tournament.
Emma Johnson was MVP for HB Collier and the team won the trophy for the friendliest team for the tournament.
