Office on the move

-

With the lease on the current CHB Mail office in Ruataniwha St Waipukurau soon to expire, the newspaper’s owners NZME have taken the opportunity to relocate.

From the end of January you will find the

CHB Mail and CHB’s

Hawke’s Bay Today office in the Atrium building, 125 Ruataniwha St, Waipukurau.

CHB Mail editor Rachel Wise says the new office space is currently a blank slate, giving the company a chance to configure the workspace to suit the needs of staff who are now working over multi-media platforms, with advertising consultants selling not only newspaper space but also radio and digital advertising.

“We’re in a fast-moving and rapidly changing industry and we don’t need the huge amounts of storage space for newspaper files we used to need . . . but we do need to cater for increased use of technology,” she says.

“The Atrium building has been upgraded in terms of earthquake safety — which is something we have to look at, as media needs to be able to jump into action to help keep people informed if there is a natural disaster.”

Staff are looking forward to the move, which, rumor has it, will be topped off with a new coffee machine.
