THUMBS UP & DOWN

■ Thumbs up: and many thanks to the kind Higgins Contractor workers who dropped what they were doing and came to help me when I had trouble with my trailer in Waipukurau this week. Your help was very much appreciated!

■ Thumbs up: to all those families and retailers who have taken up the challenge of reducing the use of plastic bags. The change is so noticeable! Together we can make a difference to reduce waste.

■ Thumbs down: to the cattle truck that discharged effluent all the way along Tavistock Rd and into town on the morning of Friday, November 23.

■ Thumbs down: to the people who do not pick up their dog droppings. Shame on you. Same dog has been using my front lawn for the last two weeks in Carpenter St, Waipukurau. Get your act together and do the right thing if you are walking the dog. Don’t spoil it for all dog people.
