FINDING A LOST DOG

If you come across a lost dog on your travels, if it is safe to do so please secure it on your property. Once it is secure, phone Council on 06-857-8060 (24 hour phone service), and let them know you’ve found a dog. If it has a registration tag, please give them the number – there is a high chance that they can reunite the dog and its owner!

If they can’t, and it is before 8pm, one of our Animal Services team will be along to collect the dog. If it after 8pm, and it is safe for you to do so, we ask that you give the dog some water and we will be there to collect it first thing in the morning.
