New councillor rural champion

-

Kate Taylor of CommuniKate has been named Rural Champion in the NZI Rural Women NZ Business Awards 2019.

Kate has also recently been elected to represent the Aramoana-Ruahine Ward on the Central Hawke’s Bay District Council.

“Kate is the epitome of a rural champion and she is actively involved in a huge range of activities in Hawke’s Bay,” says Fiona Gower, RWNZ national president.

“The criteria for winning this category is that it must be awarded to a person or business who goes above and beyond in supporting the rural sector or rural enterprises and Kate is the ‘champion of rural champions’.”

This year’s Rural Champion Award is sponsored by New Zealand investment and advisory group Jarden.

“We are delighted with the news that Kate has won the Rural Champion Award and gone on to secure a council seat,” says Angus Marks, director, wealth management adviser at Jarden. “We are proud to sponsor a rural champion who is wholly involved at all levels of her community in Hawke’s Bay.”

“The NZI Rural Women NZ Business Awards continue to provide the opportunity to celebrate and showcase achievements by rural women,” says Fiona Gower.
