Christmas Carnival this Saturday
Organisers are promising hours of fun at the CHB Christmas Carnival this Saturday, starting with the annual Christmas Parade in Waipukurau starting at 11am.
Spectators are advised to get a good spot for the parade, which will start at the railway end of Ruataniwha St and make its way along the main street, leading the way to Russell Park where the Christmas Carnival continues with live music from The Muserables and the Napier Pipe Band, a visit from Santa, storytelling with Mary Kippenberger and Rhubarb, and Christmas carols with Bay City Church.
At 1.45pm the Christmas parade prizegiving will be held, with CHB mayor Alex Walker giving out prizes for the best floats in each category. Then at 1.55pm a lolly scramble will signal the end of the carnival.
Throughout the afternoon there will also be bouncy castles, vintage fire truck rides, mini hot rods rides and face painting, as well as a free ice block and sausage upon arrival.
Fun at Russell Park at last year’s CHB Christmas Carnival.
