D Tidswell opened the OtawhaoTak­apau WI meeting at 11am on February 13 at St Mark’s Church in Takapau.

There were 15 members and one visitor with her three-monthold daughter. Apologies from P Ballantyne and M James.

We read the Aspiration­s and then had a minute’s silence for the sick and bereaved.

Special thoughts for P Ballantyne whose sister has passed away recently.

We have two new members, S McVeigh and C McVeigh. With C McVeigh Joining we now have two junior members.

We took a gold coin collection for the bush fires in Australia.

Numbers were taken for the Founders bus trip to Napier on the February 26 with other members of the CHB WI Federation.

D King told us about the exercise group at St Mark’s Church on Friday at 11.30 am and invited us to join them.

H Wiley won the raffle. K McVeigh and B Shepherd judged the competitio­ns. Competitio­n results:

We then had our AGM D Tidswell, president, read her report then said she was standing down as president.

R Thomson read the Garden Group report then M Drummond read the Drama group report.

M Drummond was elected as president unanimousl­y. Nominated by K McVeigh, 2nd by D Tidswell.

The Committee was selected, M Drummond, H Knight, H Wiley, M Collett, D Tidswell, K McVeigh, R Thomson and C Partridge.

L Koppen and P Ballantyne have offered to judge the monthly competitio­ns.

J Heremia raised the subject of needing a new banner for Otawhao-Takapau WI. We are going to work on it.

D Tidwell moved that we officially amalgamate the Otawhao and Takapau WIs. All in favour.
