The good, bad and funny

Thumbs up

To Mike Kupa for all the hours he puts in as a volunteer, reffing kids and adults in rugby, touch and miniball. You’re awesome. Without people like you lots of these games wouldn’t be possible. Thank you!

To Vet Services. Such friendly kind and accommodating staff.

And heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in our recent shed fire. Specifically the amazing firefighters, and all our friends and neighbours. We truly appreciate everything and can’t thank you all enough.

To CHB Motors. Hopefully we will have good mobile phone coverage soon.

To Tanil’s Kitchen for making the best pies! Your butter chicken one is sooo good.

To Pukeora Estate for the recent concert. It was a great night out. I look forward to other events held up there.

To Karen Tobin and the great printing/scanning service at the library. I’m impressed!

To the organisers of the country school swimming sports at the pool on Thursday. A well-run event.

To our fabulous friendly pharmacist teams. We’re lucky to have such great local service and support!

To the people who have been running the Thursday night miniball. The kids have really enjoyed themselves.

To the Waipawa 4 Square staff. Always greeting customers with a smile. Lovely ladies.

To the Waipukurau op shop that had fill-a-pillowcase for $5 this week. We didn’t quite fill one but got a great selection of clothes for three people. Great deal.

To the students who competed

at the swimming sports.

To the shopkeepers with brooms, sweeping the street in Waipukurau each morning. Oldfashioned pride in their premises and so nice to see.

To the improvements at the Tavistock Hotel . . . looking great, and really nice to see the Funky Pukeko shop enhancing the corner.

Thumbs down

To whoever is walking past my letter box and decides that it’s a rubbish bin. Would love to know

who you are so I can return the favour.

To impatient drivers at the Victoria St intersection in Waipawa at school pick-up time. Yes, it gets congested. Wait your turn. Nobody needs to get injured.

To the hold-up in getting Harker St, Waipawa, open again, which would help with the traffic congestion at Victoria St.

To whoever dumped stuff including a busted yellow boxing bag and a chair on the accessway to the Tukituki River by the bridge. Grubs.
