Alex Davies, owner and head chef of acclaimed restaurant Gatherings in Christchur­ch, is heading to London to show the Poms how we do sustainabl­e New Zealand cuisine. Alex will be presenting a pop-up Gatherings experience on 4 June at the celebrated Rochelle Canteen ICA. He was invited by the owner of the restaurant, acclaimed chef Margot Henderson, who is herself a Kiwi. For Alex it’s back to his roots, as Gatherings evolved from a pop-up series before opening as a permanent entity in early 2017. He also swapped restaurant­s with Tom Hishon from Orphans Kitchen for a week in Auckland in 2018.
